Top step of the podium for Andy Booth at the Croft round of the No Limits Racing series.
Andy has found his place and pace in the Super-Twins class of the No Limits series and after much graft, threaded the ARB Racing Ducati through to his maiden victory!

Andy said: “It’s been a very long time coming, slowly catchy monkey and all that,” he told UK Clubsport. “It’s been a learning curve going from an in-line four to a v-twin Ducati.

TWINS rider Danny Shaw went three for three this weekend with a hat-trick at No Limits Racing’s Croft round, while Andy Booth finally took his maiden win.

Despite the two sharing the two-cylinder spoils in North Yorkshire, it’s still Andy Claridge in strong command of the club’s newest class.

Ducati Cup racer Shaw, who has run well inside the top-ten of the BSB support series this year, was on dominant form in the first three races, but was missing from the grid in the final Twins scrap, which gave Booth the opportunity to shine.

Shaw dominated the Saturday morning qualifying session, scorching to pole a massive 3.709s ahead of premier-car.co.uk rider Jake Major-Bird and Andy Claridge.

And when the lights went out for race one, the FML Motorsport man stormed away from the line, stretching a 17s lead over Major-Bird and a 28s lead over Booth at the chequered flag.

Shaw did exactly the same in race two, gapping the field immediately and winning by over 17s to Major-Bird, while Andy Claridge made a last-lap move on ATS Hire’s Booth to snatch third.

With Major-Bird off the grid in race three, Booth was able to move up the order into the runner-up spot, 12s behind Shaw, while Claridge settled for the final podium position.

But Shaw wasn’t going to make it a clean sweep in the last race after going missing, leaving Booth and Claridge as the lone front-row starters.

Booth is still buzzing from his first win this weekend, but admits that the challenge now is to keep his momentum going…

Booth led Claridge away from the line, but Major-Bird, who was forced to start on the back row, was on a charge and up to fourth overall after just one lap.

He was up to third on the next lap and ahead of Claridge by the end of lap three, nipping at Booth’s heels. But Major-Bird couldn’t make up the 0.807s deficit on the final lap, and after over 20 years of action, Booth finally bagged his first victory.

It was an emotional event for the Derby man, who admits it’s been just as much work off track as on-track.

“It’s been a very long time coming, slowly catchy monkey and all that,” he told UK Clubsport. “It’s been a learning curve going from an in-line four to a v-twin Ducati.

“This season I also moved from K-Tech suspension to Mupo, which has made the bike so much more ridable. And since November I have lost over five stone, started getting fitter, got help from my life coach Denise Phillips, and had continued support from my sponsors.

“This has been a massive personal goal to get my first win, but the big challenge now is to keep winning.”
