ARB Racing Snetterton July 2016 - Race Start

ARB Racing was back out again for the 8 Hour endurance with No-Limits at Snetterton. The team boosted to 4 for the mega endurance and James Chappers joined Martin Watts, Gerry Simpson and Andy Booth for the slog.

Open pit on Friday was a bonus for setup and taken advantage of by all. On the hunt for a faster lap James did a good impression of the “Snetterton Scary Tree” whilst the GSXR took to the grass to dig a hole.. The hole won! Battered and bruised James jumped on the ARB Racing Gixer and despite aches, made good for race day. Understandably the pace was a little down in qualifying and the Misfits took a back row start. Hidden away down the grid, the bad luck started to creep up as the Gixer’s battery died, leaving Martin and Gerry to take the strain whilst the race went on…

ARB Racing Snetterton Martin Watts July 2016

Martin Watts: “Endurance under way, only five and a half hours to go!! All riders have been out once, I'm just about to head out for my second 40 minuter.”

ARB Racing Snetterton James Chappers July 2016

James Chappers: “Just gone half way through the 8hr endurance. Sore, bruised, knackered and loving it!”

ARB Racing Snetterton Gerry Simpson July 2016

Gerry Simpson: “Many thanks to Andy Booth, ARB Racing and Team Misfits for letting me join them this weekend. Despite what I may have felt at times, over tired & knackered, I think I enjoyed it :-) Some seriously quick guys out there but generally all good clean fun. Thanks to team mates Martin Watts and James Chappers too. My Daytona was faultless, pity I can't say the same about the rider! One grass-track session all day is improving! Congrats to all the trophy winners and thanks to the Marshalls and Medics.

ARB Racing Snetterton Andy Booth July 2016

Andy Booth: “That's 8 hrs of endurance completed. Proper buzzing... What with James crashing his bike Friday then my bike breaking down with battery failure, to pull it back was awesome teamwork! Thanks also to the Orange Army of Marshals for looking after us... Big smile all round.”

End of day came with a result of 39th out of 46 and not bad considering the obstacles in the way. Roll on next round at Silverstone on the 16th July with Martin and Gerry.
