Paddock Mayhem; Friday Evening, lining up at the gates ready to charge, elbows out fighting for position. Much like the start of the Endurance race actually! And that’s why we’re here. That and the Pre-race take-away. Got to look after the Team; Myself Andy, Ryan Kinning (Rider #2) and Boothi3 (Mechanic). Super-Sub Liam Murtagh is on the way with the Wildcard ZX10R ready to step in for the Brands Hatch round.

Race Day dawns and the mayhem continues as we head for Team brief and Scrutineering. Plan for the Day with Liam and the regular team is made and we head for Qualifying. I led the charge with a PB and handed the GSXR to Ryan for some Hot laps and a punt up the starting order. Liam finished with a healthy pace and put us up to 10th with a 50.597 second lap.

Sunny and dry was the order for the day and the Flags were waving signalling the Mayhem was once again about to start. I took the lead with the running start and a Marquez style bunk onto the Gixxer from Ryan shot us off the grid. Head down for a few laps before a red called halt as an engine blow dosed the tarmac. From there started a roll of unplanned luck; the enhanced wait in pit lane caused overheating for Ryan and an early stop for the Gixxer, catching Liam and I without the ZX10R ready. Liam loses grip literally, as a loose clip-on hinders progress and he pits with the Gixxer still on the stands from the overheat.
We had our work cut out to claw back the almost 25 minutes lost but good teamwork earned a respectable 31st out of 43 and more importantly, 5th in class.
Massive Thanks go out to Karen Brown, Becci Stubbs, Sophie Booth, Guy Rhodes, Jenni Pryer and Stacey Coles for your help. Also to all our sponsors big and small as every penny counts. To No Limits and all the staff for an excellent and professional event and most of all to the Orange Army of Marshals without whom we cannot race.
