Solid laps accompanied by jelly babies and a few tweeks...
Snetterton No-Limits Endurance Race review for Team MisFits / ARB Racing.
Hey… It’s race day! Up bright and early with the sun, although it was extremely cold. I would like to say I went for a jog around the track but the bike needed a check over and a fresh set of slicks. All present and correct so time to sign on and get the practice pass… Read on
March the 14th / 15th - NGRRC Rounds 1 and 2. Brands Hatch.
The wait is over.. We've got an itch to scratch and it's going to be a well deserved reward to see that red-light go out tomorrow morning.
ACU Testing with "Kiyo" in the same group. Not every day you can say that! I expect he's come to checkout some Hamster lines (Wink). Well whatever the case, we're ready and the bike is set to roll.
The flag drops in the morning, so bring the sun and look out for Hamster #3 in the Open and Powerbikes class.
We've got some ARBRacing.com stickers for the the weekend so pop in and grab one to help promote the new website. We'll be posting pics and a race review here next week and you can catch the latest over the weekend on our twitter @25Hamster and facebook www.facebook.com/andy.booth
Massive thanks to our sponsors for 2015. Take a look at the sponsors page to show your support. http://www.arbracing.co.uk/sponsors/
We've got a sponsor review and photo-shoot coming up and we'll be highlighting one of our sponsors every month to help promote them. Next up: APP Lifting Services.
Friday
Headed to Pembrey Circuit. Sunny Wales.
5 hour drive and get set up in the wind and the rain, mind it is Feb and still winter.
Saturday
First sign in of the year and full wets set for the wet track. The rain had gone and it was starting to dry...
First session; Get the suspension warmed up ready for 100% Suspension to do their stuff.
Although I had lost 3 lbs from last weekend at Snetterton I still felt like I was wearing an over tight corset rather than a set of leathers. I could not move about the bike as I would have liked.
3 more sessions were done going from full wets to wet front and inter rear, then finally the last session; Full drys. Progression, they call it.
The evening saw the Gixer dressed in some shiny new orange Samco hoses. Nice.
Sunday
Gales and Heavy rain all night! Morning, believe it or not the sun was out.
We finished putting the bike back together and once again shod with wets, out for the first session on a drying track.
2nd 3rd and 4th session Colin and Dianne of 100% got the suspension really dialed in and a nice rhythm was found.
Last session; Rain. I had achieved what I needed it was time to pack up and head for home.
The 502 mile round trip was well worth it. Next few weeks; get some weight lost and stick to the new fitness regime.
Next stop Brands for rounds 1 and 2 with NGRRC.
Hamster #3
The Gixer is back together and running sweet! We've hoofed last years crisp packets out of the van and spruced up the leathers.. Just a bit! So guess what, it's time to roll.
We've secured a new number for 2015 "#3" shown below, so the old #25 is resigned to the garage wall. Look out for the flash new #3 this year!
Snetterton Race Circuit was the venue this weekend, Sunday the 22nd and it was Nippy!
"Bugger I didn't think I was that out of shape.... I need to throttle back at work and cut some hours and use the time for a fitness regime.... any ideas on getting fit quick????...."
That's often how the first shake-down feels but it's always a shock to the system and now we're on the case.
Hopefully we have some good pics coming; Guy Rhodes Photography was snapping away. You'll see soon.
The bike went well and we stayed in one piece so time to re-group and get ready for the official NGRRC test next week! Sat and Sunday the 28th and 1st. Pembrey ... Let the sun shine.
We're very pleased to announce we'll be competing in the 2015 Powerbikes and Open series with NGRRC on this years refreshed GSXR1000.
Last years test in the No-Limits Series Endurance has given us a new direction but the short Circuit is where we started. We'll still be here for 2015.
Take a look at the 2015 calendar below.
